YouTube has always been comment hell. Mindless, juvenile insults abound. Lately I’ve noticed a proliferation of copy-and-paste digital graffiti. This tells me that the usual pea-brains are running out of material and resorting to pasting other peoples’ lame chain letters. It creates clutter, pointless litter that interrupts streams of relevant comments.

It wastes time and waters down the intended effectiveness of YouTube and other such comment-heavy forums. Apparently screening out this trash would slow down the server and therefore slow down the service.

Is this a scam? Well, not in the traditional sense. But in a larger sense, I regard all forms of spam detrimental to the Internet. DO NOT ADD TO IT. You are as big a loser as the others if you mindlessly clog bandwidth with this nonsense. Ever wish your Internet connection was faster? It would be if jerks stopped posting and emailing and forwarding spam.
