Fun with Free FotoFlexer Online Photo Editing
While I prefer Paint Shop Pro to Photoshop for consumer-level graphics manipulations, sometimes I have access to neither. What to do, for instance, if I only have access to a computer that typically does not have a graphics program installed, such as at a public library or corporate office?
I found that I can still edit my pictures with a handful of free online programs. While each has its strengths and weaknesses, my favorite is FotoFlexer by Arbor Labs. This interactive editor can be found at FotoFlexer.com. Choose from among 22 different language versions, and then click right to the Demos page for some quick tips on how to use the commands.
I can’t even begin to tell you what this program can do. But I will. Load any picture from FotoFlexer’s online library, your Internet photo sources (like PhotoBucket, Flickr, Facebook, etc.), your computer hard drive, or even your live webcam, and then …
Crop, copy, re-size, rotate, flip, adjust brightness and contrast, sharpen or blur, fix red eye, make greyscale, colorize, paint, apply various effects, add “stickers” and text, draw, erase, fill sample colors to duplicate, insert a face into stock photos (very funny!), make cards and posters and collages, add borders, add animations (save as animated GIFs), remove wrinkles and blemishes, twirl, bulge, pinch, stretch, squish, add layers, select portions of pictures, duplicate, add gradient opacity, link or merge layers, and yes, even more!
Playing with it requires nothing but your time and imagination. Saving pictures to FotoFlexer’s server requires a free and simple registration.
Save your edited photo to your computer, FotoFlexer, PhotoBucket, Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Smugmug, or Myspace, or send it by email, weblink, or TinyPic.
Fear nothing, try everything; the Undo and Redo buttons appear to be limitless. This program is fantastic, free, and accessible from anywhere.
