Games For the Brain
In the course of my constant quest for illustrative graphics, I visit Google Images most often. I’ve become aware of several games that involve Google Images, so I decided to feature one here today.
It is called “The Image Quiz,” one of a collection of Games for the Brain, where you can “Play neverending quiz, memory & brain games to train your thinking.” No kidding!
| The Game shows a results screen from a Google Image search. You have three chances to guess the search word or phrase. This was an easy peasy one for me: | For every correct answer, you earn 10 “IQ” points. For incorrect answers, subtract 10. |
| Frequent “Brain Tips” appear with sage advice for cultivating the little gray cells: | A Bonus Ticket may show up on occasion. For fun, copy the ticket number and then click through to the Bonus Room to enjoy a thing of beauty: |
| Another bonus that shows up on occasion is a Bonus Game that does not appear in the website’s current public line-up: |
Some tips: Spelling counts, but capitalization doesn’t. Type fast, as there’s a time limit for your three guesses, but there’s also a countdown to the next quiz. Also, you have to get the phrase exactly, so you may think/type “F. Scott Fitzgerald” while they’re looking for “Scott Fitzgerald” instead. That’s the point of having three guesses, I guess.
It’s all free, and it’s all fun. The occasional ads are easily ignored (or not!), and if your boss catches you, you can explain how it’s broadening your horizons and improving your concentration and deductive skills. Feel free to flex your mental might. You have nothing to lose but your mind. |

Hello again! I have another complaint. In Counterfeit, what do you want me to click on…what IS there on one painting or what ISN’T there on the other? After all, 10 points is 10 points and you’re messing with my score. Try to be consistent, please.
Thanks again, Marjorie
Playing checkers gets to be a drag when I must always make the starting move. Your moves are too fast and sometimes have interrupted my intention to jump two of your men. Before I get to the second man, you have made your move.
Counterfeit. There are two paintings, identical, a man in a black suit cleaning a chalkboard with his left hand using a whie cloth. The hand is much too large for his body and seems to be the error, but it is the same on the other painting. Other than that, there are no differences. How about correcting that?
Thank you, Marjorie P.S. Stop cheating at checkers!
