If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Trick ‘Em
I’ve known quite a few bar tricksters in my day. You know, the guys (rarely gals, for some odd reason) who can make a cigarette dance on the table or make a coin fall through a glass or perform any number of little card tricks. They (we) do it for a free beer, to win a small bet, to pick up a girl, or merely to show off for the attention.
They (we) learn these tricks by swapping with each other, for the most part. The old I’ll show you mine if you show me yours routine. It’s a great way to build up a repertoire. Slow, though.
The Internet provides a quicker education. Some of the most startling bar tricks I’ve ever seen are available through PubTricks.com. All the tricks are easy to learn. Some require some preparation, but the video tutorials are extremely descriptive and easy to follow. The prices are excellent, ranging from free to under $20 – most under $10 – and product download is instant.
Wanna save some money? The more tricks you order, the more you get for free. Or subscribe to PubTricks.com for $9.95 per month and get 5 free tricks per month. Or merely sign up for their free newsletter for 10 free tricks, and then some.
One thing I learned long ago was to never repeat a trick in front of the same audience. Through repetition, they may catch on to your technique. But PubTricks.com gives you so many variations on a theme that you could seemingly repeat a trick several times using different techniques and your audience will never catch on.
