Orange Rhymes With Blorenge, But Some Words Have No Rhyme

I like songs of any and all styles, as long as they’re good. What makes a song instantly bad for me is a bad rhyme. Come on, you’re professionals. Work a little harder and make the words rhyme.

And I mean rhyme correctly. The words should be pronounced the same way from the vowel sound of the main stressed syllable through the end of the word. Same number of syllables. Same accents. Same rhythm. Perfect rhymes.

For example, “purple” rhymes perfectly with “hirple,” the Scottish word for a limp. “Rhythm” rhymes with “smitham,” small pieces of ore, and “silver” rhymes with “chilver,” a female lamb. And of course “orange” rhymes with “Blorenge,” a Welsh mountain.

Here are some common English words that have no proper, single word, perfect rhymes:

So to be absolutely clear: Nothing rhymes with “nothing,” and nothing rhymes with “something,” so neither “nothing” nor “something” rhyme with anything.
