If you haven’t bought your loved one something better than a box of supermarket chocolates, you’re hooped. Yeah, sure, the economy’s bad, Christmas knocked the wind out of you, you were on NASA’s moon program team and your budget was cut, blah blah blah… We saw the UBC production of “Romeo and Juliet” last week and had a rip-roaring good time. The inventive direction by Catriona Leger gave Bill Shakespeare’s tragic love story a wild, funny, and exciting turn. In the cozy theatre-in-the-round, we had a 3-D experience far better than “Avatar.” … Okay, this is not my original list, but this IS a life-saving list worth mentioning. Studying this list will result in your uncanny ability to open a beer bottle in virtually any situation… No, I haven’t seen “Avatar” yet. Some of us had other things to do the weeks of Christmas and New Years. But I’m going on Wednesday. IMAX screen, 3-D, 11 a.m. matinee during school hours. I dare say that is the optimum viewing situation… My boss here at SnarlyBoodle.com makes videos from time to time. What follows is one from a couple of years ago. He’s a sad, bitter man when it comes to holiday cheer, so bear with him in the opening of this video.
